This brief was created initially as a series of animations that were based around personal collections of mine but evolved into a collection that we all share, language; as language is a collection of vocabulary, (that can unite as well as divide). The actual word ‘collection’ was translated into as many languages as it was possible to find. From there, each word was cut in order to create a recessed shape. Each of the 63 sheets (with a single translation on it) was then bound into a book. When viewed, the collective cutouts create an individual shape. A typeface was then created, based upon this shape.
