This typeface entitled ‘awkwardness’ was based on an interpretation of how far people would go to avoid it. Taking 12 trips (east/west/north/south) I traveled as far as possible on the London Underground filming people, stopping only when questioned by someone. The typeface was created based upon the modified tube map of the journeys made. The aim was to create a visual awkwardness, primarily through a lack of legibility.
